Planning meeting – Board adopts search timeline, reviews hiring criteria, search procedures, market positioning, and public involvement
January 27, 2025 – March 3, 2025
MSBA posts opening on local, regional, and national websites, advertises position vacancy, receives applications, and responds to applicants’ inquiries
March 3, 2025
(5:30 pm, Regular Meeting) MSBA attends virtually
Board meets for interview training, and to discuss interview questions, audience input groups, and interview procedures
March 3, 2025
Application Deadline
March 4 – March 17, 2025
MSBA conducts screening, preliminary verification of references, pre-interviews of recommended applicants
March 5 – March 17, 2025
Board members review applications
March 17, 2025 (5:30 pm, Regular Meeting) MSBA attends virtually
Board meets to determine finalists, interview questions and procedures; MSBA reviews interview training
March 19 and 21, 2025 (4:00 pm and 4:00 pm, Special Meeting)
Board conducts first round of interviews
March 31, 2025 (4:00 pm, Special Meeting)
Board conducts reference checks and holds second round of interviews; Board selects lone finalist and sets negotiations process
April 1, 2025
Board designee begins negotiations of employment contract
April 7, 2025

Board meets to approve employment contract
