KMHS Drama Department presents "Almost, Maine" April 13-15
The KMHS Drama Department proudly presents John Cariani’s real romantic comedy, Almost, Maine, April 13-15 at the Minnesota WiFi Performing Arts Center. Show times are Friday, April 13 at 7:00 PM; Saturday, April 14 at 7:00 PM; and Sunday, April 15 at 2:00 PM.
Almost, Maine has been the most-produced play at the high school level for many years, and for good reason. Described by the playwright as "a real romantic comedy, Almost, Maine tells nine stories of different kinds of love, all of which take place at exactly the same moment in eponymous fictional town. Almost, Maine, is a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States—it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just…Almost.
One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same. ALMOST, MAINE: It’s love. But not quite.
